Beyond Generation Rent – A new report by CaCHE
‘In the 10 years to April 2018, the proportion of private renters in the 35 to 54-years-old category has almost doubled and now accounts for 41 per cent (up from 23 per cent).’
The UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE) has just launched a report, Beyond Generation Rent: Understanding the Aspirations of Private Renters Aged 35 – 54. Drawing on the experiences of this group, the report documents that besides facing many of the same challenges as younger renters – high rents, insecure housing and poor living conditions – older renters also encounter distinct issues, such as the impact on family life and difficulties in repurposing homes for age-related health and mobility issues.
More information on the report and an accompanying video is available here.
