CRUNCH: Climate Resilient Urban Nexus Choices: Operationalising the Food-Water-Energy Nexus

Duration: 04/18 - 03/21

The CRUNCH: Climate Resilient Urban Nexus Choices: Operationalising the Food-Water-Energy Nexus project seeks to strengthen urban resilience through the development of an intersectoral knowledge platform. Its research will focus on the development of Urban Living Labs in six case studies cities in Netherlands (Eindhoven), Poland (Gdansk), Sweden (Uppsala), Taiwan (Taipei), United Kingdom (Southend-on-Sea) and the United States (Miami).

By facilitating the creation of cross-sectoral indicators and an assessment framework, the project will support policy makers in the design of future urban planning. The research will also explore a range of potential solutions for the different contexts of each city, such as urban good production systems powered by renewable sources and the use of application of ecological systems to support urban water management and drainage.
