SOLSTICE: Call for proposals on society and climate change
Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges facing society. ESRC is participating in a JPI Climate joint transnational call, SOLSTICE, which aims to enable the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research community to take the lead in understanding and contributing to solving the societal challenges of climate change. To enable transformational change, novel interdisciplinary collaborations across social sciences and humanities from consortia from at least three participating countries (UK, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Latvia and Norway) are required.
Proposals should address one or more of the following topics:
Social justice and participation: the dynamics of participation and political behaviour in climate change policy
Sense making, cultural meaning and risk perception: transformative learning, engagement and the challenge of societal indifference
Transformative finance and economy: economic transition, innovation and the cost of carbon.
The call for outline proposals will close at 17.00 (CET) 09 January 2020 and the call for full proposals will close at 17.00 (CET) on 03 February 2020. More information is available here.
