Governing in and against austerity – A new report on CURA’s research on austerity governance

The Centre for Urban Research on Austerity has launched a new dissemination report, outlining some of the key findings from its Collaborative Governance under Austerity: An Eight-Case Comparative Study project. Spanning cities in the UK (Leicester), Europe (Athens, Barcelona, Dublin and Nantes), North America (Baltimore and Montréal) and Australia (Greater Dandenong in Melbourne), the publication presents some important pointers on how the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis has affected cities in different ways.

Besides presenting detailed case studies of the eight case study cities, the report also highlights ways forward and alternatives for cities struggling with austerity to develop participatory and citizen-led solutions to these challenges. The full report can be accessed here.
